Portumna - tonight on Prime Time

Hi all, We saw the Prime Time special tonight on rural Ireland. I know Portumna really well and I can honestly say that the town has gone completely downhill since the Westpark (showing my age) / Shannon Oaks closed. Does anyone have any hope for this beautiful town that was once a tourist hub? MV

Hi all,

There's talks about getting the hotel up and running but it will take time.

The town is in an ideal location just beside the Shannon but tourists find they have nowhere to stay when they visit with no hotel.
