Things you like about the Internet

What do you like about the Internet? what makes you happy? laugh? want to go online? Is there anything that you really like about it? I'll go first.

1. Youtube - Whether it be listening to music, checking out fail compilation videos, or just watching random videos, youtube is one of those places I really like going onto, and have spent hours on.

2. Photoshop Fun - Always love when a photograph winds up on the internet, and people often edit the pictures making them funnier. One particular one that went viral was the one about Linda Glocke "I Will Destroy ISIS". Some right gems with that one.

3. Internet Memes - I guess memes can be rather hit or miss type of things depending on the humor of a person, but when done right, they're pretty great. Also, is it me or are memes starting to overtake cat pictures in terms of internet popularity?

4. Wikipedia - I know, I know, some will argue the credibility of wikipedia. But i've always found it a nice source of information. I just think wikipedia makes it easier to find information without going into a full on investigation. You just type in something and there is almost always a wikipedia page about a topic.

5. Internet Forums - And of course where would we all be if it wasn't for sites like boards.ie. I frequent a few forums, and always found them a nice place for discussion and insight.

Anyway those are some of the things I like about the internet.

I'm quite a sexual person so **** is an obvious plus point. Or so it would seem, but I do often wonder how teenage lads of today suffer as a result of its easy access. Think about it: you're 15 with an average-sized penis which isn't even fully developed, and all of a sudden you're exposed to these made yokes that you see in porn. Your self-esteem is going to plummet, isn't it? You're going to grow up thinking that you're abnormal when, actually, you're completely normal. It's sad in a way.

The modern-day internet will breed millions of insecure young fellas. If I have a son, he's going to have something which looks like a cocktail sausage peering out of Marouane Fellaini's hairdo, like his old man, and he's going nowhere near porn until he's old enough to realise that not every cock is seven inches with the girth akin to a can of Lynx.

I didn't and none of the lads did either. My most x-rated video was Tango and Cash. Still, I do think young fellas today will grow up far more insecure about themselves compared to previous generations. It's inevitable. It might be creepy but that's the way I see it.

Google Maps is brilliant for getting directions and having a rough idea of what a place looks like before you travel to it.

Social Media - Having the likes of facebook and Skype help contacting those who live away from home. If it wasn't for Facebook and Skype I probably wouldn't be as close to my cousin who lives in the States. Now we are really close and always chatting on Facebook or Skype. It's great to be able to keep that family contact.

Internet Forums - I have been on a few boards over the years and have made some really great friends from around the world. I have been friends with some people longer than those I know in real life actually.

Google Maps - Because who doesn't love being able to put that little man on the ground to find your way. Seriously helpful to get you from A to B. I'm one of these people who doesn't know road names but if you name a store that is on the street I have a better chance of knowing where I am! It's great to have the street view for this reason.
