Have you considered the auction houses that sell secondhand jewellery? If you're in Dublin, there's Reillys on Francis St and Weldons on Crow's Lane off Dame St. They'll examine the rings and give you a guide price for auction, set a reserve and you decide then if you want to sell. I'm not sure how their commission/charge works but a phone call to them would answer that one.

Any way you decide to do it you will lose money. The next part is how much you can afford to lose. Cash for gold will fleece ya completely. After that you have the options of done deal or adverts. Show the receipt in ad or pay for valuation and show that. Lastly the auction there is a cost as outlined above but you can put a reserve on the item. Reduces risk also of anybody try to con you or Rob you in a private sale. What was retail cost do you mind me asking?

Just a thought OP, if they rings are both 'as new' have you considered returning (if practical that is) to the point where they were purchased and asking what may perhaps be possible?
