Amazon Televisions

Has anyone bought a telly from amazon.co.uk, and gotten it delivered through parcel motel?
There's a significant difference in price circa €100, to the price in Argos.

So, I'm thinking if something goes wrong with it, it would be easier to drop it back to argos rather than posting it back to the UK.

    Thoughts?

You'll have to pay excess fees for parcel motel as clearly it won't fit in a locker

Paying the €7 extra hardly puts you off if you can save lots more on the TV,

I've done it a few time without any problems and picked it up from my local depot. but you have to be aware that parcel motel only covers up to €100 with there insurance.

    Cheers Pedro,
I wouldn't be too worried about the insurance though, I've never had a problem returning stuff to Amazon.

Parcel Winzard could be a cheaper option, they deliver to your door, big thread in the Bargain Alerts, also DPD reps post there

    Cheers Nava,
Before Christmas, I'd say a fair few people would rather get stuff delivered off site rather than their loved ones having to sign for the pressies at the door, I'd say if DPL were to deliver a 43 inch telly to the door, it might spoil the surprise. :)

I actually have a parcel wizard account and for some reason can't get it to work on the amazon site. In fairness I haven't put too much thought into it, but I had several comebacks that they don't deliver to that address.

Parcel motel now allows you to increase the insurance up to €1500
    €500 Cover – for 14 days at a cost of €3.50
    €1000 Cover – for 14 days at a cost of €7.00
€1500 Cover– for 14 days at a cost of €10.50

Have you compared Powercity, DID and RicherSounds (on boards)?

I have bought a lot of stuff via the web - but always found the above to be very competitive

Thinking of going the same route as the OP on buying a tele and wondering how the experience went or if anyone else can share theirs.
