MAS probably did the maintenance, a lot of airlines would ferry aircraft to KL following contracts, they would leave them there until the next contract and get MAS to get them ready or painted. Unfortunately the classic 747's aren't wanted by anyone these days. I think that these aircraft will become Pepsi cans quite soon.

how on earth can 3 planes just arrive at an Airport and nobody knows who owns them?

are they air worthy for cargo for instance?

I guess Air Atlanta sold them to a scrapage company who parked them and then went bust. Perhaps KUL know the owners but have to make this public announcment under Malaysian law to repossess them?

All TF reg so as Tenger said most likely former Air Atlanta bodies. This actually happens more often than you would think, partially through bankruptcies and new owners not knowing they are new owners having been passed these as part payment of debts etc or being passed these and not knowing what to do with them. Airport is probably also trying to collect fees while advising owners that they are about to confiscate them and scrap them to recover costs.
