How far have you gone in one set of tyres?

Just curious as to how long you have managed to get out of a pair of tyres. I will soon be replacing my original back pair of Hancooks on a 141 Kia at 75,000km. The mad thing is though that they are still at around the 3mm mark. Mostly motorway driving, but even still I am amazed that they have lasted so long.

Front pair were replaced at 58,000km with a pair of Continentals, so will be going with the same for the back. I've been told they won't last half as long, but the performance and braking reassurance will make up for the difference.

Had a set on an Almera for 7 years which would equate to between 60 & 70k miles

8 years on a 99 Honda civic. Think about 50k kms

I'd be lucky to get more then 10,000 miles from my back tyres!

I took two continentals off the rear that had 105k km's, and I'd say they had done a bit before I bought the car.

I've only put cheaper tyres on since but tey do really well. Nokians are due to come off the rear this week have probably seen 60k km's.

Getting close to the 3mm mark on the fronts on my a3, 15k miles in 15 months. I'll take grip over longer wear anyday!

Last set of Conti Wintercontact TS850, Ran them all year, 28k miles
Previous set of Nokian AllWeather+ about 30k miles inlcluding a trip to the South of France in +40°C
I always ask for all 4 to be balanced and swap them at 6mm at the front.

I recall a friends dad once had a B6 Passat and the rear tyres lasted 180k km...! Only had to replace them as they got a puncture.

Think they were Continentals or something like that.

Does the wife be rallying it up and down the mountains and back roads of bantry?? :D

That's very low life from a set of fronts!

Changed the Continental ContiSportSontacts on the Leon at 45K. They had about 3mm on the front, and 2.5mm on the back. I put Dunlop SportMaxx RT's on and they are much more quiet. Grip I'll have to see when they are scrubbed in.

The 45K was quite a lot of motorway, but there was some driving on closed roads also!

I know I'm sticking Pirellis on it now so we will see how that goes.

I don't think I've ever got in excess of 20k miles from a set when rotated. Driven wheels maybe 12/14k miles.

Had Continentals on a Trafic I bought new that I got 80,000 km out of. Everything I have at the minute has Uniroyals on and haven't got more that 25k out of them.

About 58k km (will check later) on a set of Hankook Ventus Prime 2. Front wheel drive S40, about 50% motorway driving, 30% N/R Roads, 20% city.

Fronts were close to their limit in the centre 3/4 of the tyre. Corners abount on the limit. Backs still had about 3mm on them.

New set of GoodYear Effecient Grips on last weekend, less efficient than the Hankooks according to the car  .

Are they destroyed on the inside shoulder?

Nope perfectly even apparently it's a super soft compound designed for brilliant road holding and short stopping distance.

58k miles on a set of firestone firehawks. Rotated at 40k.
still just about legal but changed as it was a bad winter and didnt want to blame bad tyres if anything happened

I don't rate the Uniroyals at all myself.

Try to stick to GoodYears as I have most confidence in them. Won't ever go near Chinese rubber.
