It's a post code for the US. If you're applying for an ESTA and they're looking for a zip code, check the website for the hotel you'll be staying in on your first night, you should find the zip code under their mailing (street) address. First five digits is all you need.

    Example:

    Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza
35 West Fifth Street, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45202, USA

    Zip code is 45202.

Yep. It's their postal code. If you are buying something from a US website, just put in 00000 or 12345 in the Zip Code box and that should suffice. If you get a pop up saying its an invalid zip code, than just google a random address and use that. A lot of US websites are set up with the presumption that the entire planet has zip codes, when they don't. It's very annoying, but if you don't fill in the zip code field, the order won't complete. As long as the rest of the address fields have your Irish shipping address, the order should process ok.
