Punch Bag / Boxing gloves

Hi, Newbie here. I am in late 30's and was looking to improve fitness. I was thinking of getting a punch bag and gloves. I am in good fitness. 1. Is there anything I should be wary of starting off? 2. Any suggestion on a starting kit? 3. Any general advice I should be wary of? Many Thanks.

Hi newbie here too, I am looking for info on getting a punch bag too for winter training. I'm thinking of getting one I seen in sean white fitness . It's a hit em hard leather bag. Do you have a routine for bag training?
