Reversing camera

    Hi
I would like to fit a reversing camera and screen to a volvo v50 (as a christmas present for my girlfriend who is car mad :) )

What would be a good set up? Ideally if the screen was in the dash and we didn't have to plug it in via cigarette lighter cable would be best.

She has had a rough year of it this year so don't mind spending a few quid. It would be good to have a dash cam as well and integrate that because she has had a fender bender in the past while and it caused quite a bit of stress (not her fault but difficult to prove and other party was very contentious).

    Thanks

one that replaces the rear view mirror with a combined dimming mirror and screen would be the neatest.

I even think you can get these that incorporate a dashcam too.

Thanks you wouldn't have a link to one of those by any chance?
How do they hook into the power, do they have a cable running up into the roof?

the installer would run a power feed, and a wire from the rear camera - usually up the front pillar.

Question is, do you have a screen already like this from factory ?

Well to do it properly you will need a new head unit and then but the reversing camera.

I got this headunit few months ago it v good for the price, so something like this and then just get the camera off ebay

I was trying to fit it in a golf mk5 but gave up as the power line needs to go off the reversing lights if you dont want to use the brake pedal sensor (which I didnt) and it was too much hassle to run the wires through the boot hatch but I see on the volvo they are part of the car body so will be an easy fit.
