Damp smell on back of new wood (leak fixed)

We had a shower first fit leak fixed a few months ago after only 3 months in a new house.

Last week we took up some floorboards in the hall outside the bathroom where the leak was to correct a problem with one lifting to find the underlay sopping - it had not dried out after the leak.

The back of the bottom of the door architrave and the skirting was a bit black and mouldy, though not yet rotten (it was new in May) - it washed off. The concrete floor has dried out and the wood but the wood smells a little.

Any recommendations for curing the wood smell prior to refitting? Will I just paint the back? The plasterboard also smells a bit though it seems ok.

    Any advice appreciated!

Go to b and q and buy a bottle of mould cleaner/killer. Bleach kind of works but not as good. Clean the wood with the mould killer and it will kill it. Mould is an organism so if you washed it with water it will grow back, it needs to be killed off. Make sure you wear gloves because the stuff stinks but goes away after a while. The wood might be a bit stained with the black afterwards but I wouldn't worry.
