Apparently it's a gathering of zombie/vampire/white Jeebus followers to partake of his flesh & drink his blood...or so I'm led to believe ;)

    Matthew 7:1-3

1/ Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2/ For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3/ And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

I forgive you The Valeyard ;):p

My local priest isn't fussy, and there is nothing said if you are late or forget.

Some people think there is something wrong giving money, we know from reading these forums, but it costs money to keep a church running, maintenance and it is no good expecting to have a church there for your funeral or for a wedding (apart from Sunday mass) if one doesn't help to keep their local church.
Today is the anniversary of my mother's death, and the local priest was very good and supportive. Often one sees nasty things being said as if there is no good with the church, and some nearly take offense if you mention anything good about the church.
So I support the local church as it is an important part of the community, and it doesn't matter when you give money to support your local church.

Little or no maintenance required for a church,it's four solid stone walls and little else.
The priest has to eat and live,I'll grant you.

There was a storm 24 years ago, the ceiling in the church near the altar collapsed, around that time a neighbour of mine had died and the funeral had to be held in the back of the church.
A temporary job was done to secure the roof and the ceiling fixed, then years later it got a new roof.

I must meet the priest during the week to autograph a few mass cards so hopefully he will do a good deal.
