One of the very few things I miss about living in Dublin was the decent selection of beer that was there, drinkstore, Redmond's, Molloy's, McHugh's etc.

Now that I'm back West, I'm finding it very difficult to get decent beer outside of the usual names. The best for selection seem to be McCambridge's and O'Brien's on the Headford Road who usually have the Irish regulars, Lagunitas, Founders, Victory, Sierra Nevada - but they never have anything special from them i.e. Narwhal, KBS etc.

Am I missing anywhere else in Galway that has a decent stock?

McCambridges have had Narwhal and KBS. They had loads of KBS a few weeks a go. Founders Cenntial ,Curmudgeon, Dirty Bastard, Porter are regularly in stock. Sierra Nevada Blindfold, Beer Camp, Harvest, Hop Hunter , Torpedo etc.

Modus Hoperandi, Odell lots more too.

Think maybe you caught them on a bad day, it can be a case of feast or famine with them.

O'Briens had plenty in the fridge this weekend.

McCambridges stock a diverse range of beers, including harder to track down limited releases, but they sure know how to apply a mark-up

I wish McCambridges would stop putting stock at the very bottom of the fridges. If I'm bent down to try and see them I get nauseous and if I go down on one knee I struggle to get up again.
That whole area could do with a revamp as they are stocking a much bigger variety of beer over the last couple of years. It's not like they can't afford it with the prices they charge for even the more mainstream craft. Staying open an hour later wouldn't do any harm either.

McCambridges also stock absinthe, just the one kind though, Jacques Senaux Absinthe Green in 70 cl and 70 ABV and at a whopping 54.99 Euros, but it saves you the journey to Dublin to buy the same bottle for 47.99 from the Celtic Whiskey Shop. I saved myself fifteen Euros as the fare there and back is 22 Euros on the web. I heard that Harvest stock absinthe too, does anyone know the score with that.
