Ok so the first time round my golf mk4 failed on a dent in the spare wheel bay, fog light and lambda reading 1.21.

So replaced fog light, fixed dent myself as got quotes of 250 and they both passed.

For the lambda I got fast fit to fit a new middle silencer and it came down to 1.06 so .03 off passing, could it be another hole in the exhaust or what else could it be, both lambda are from last year.

What about the Lambda sensor itself?

That would mean it didn't last a year as it was only replaced last year and since it came down with the exhaust fix I'm guessing it must be working, it also could be the Nct equipment, if that had a hole cars would fail on lambda.

With those old Golfs with a lambda reading of 1.06 a throttle body clean and basic settings plus clearing of engine ECU adaptions usually gets them within spec.
