Disgraceful written attack on Trans Activist

Just come across this outlining an attack on a 15 year old Trans Activist and it got my blood boiling. Nice to see that some media outlets still have no ability to show sensitivity to anyone, regardless.

I think this was the absolute clincher that got me really pissed.

Ruse's post referenced a recent meta-analysis by the World Health Organization detailing high rates of HIV among transgender women. Ruse used the study to attack Jazz Jennings as "a gender confused 15-year-old boy" and suggest that it's "dangerous" to "become 'transgender.'"

Clicked in from the main page on Boards. Wouldn't be too clued into the whole gay/trans scene or anything (don't have any gay friends or anything, at least not that I know of anyway) but I have to say, maybe I'm just out of touc, but I didn't even realise 'tranny' was an insult/slur word.

(and again, could well be wrong, but I believe the paper using that word is why people are giving out? Or am I just in half-awake mode at the moment and missing something obvious altogether?).
