Car Insurance suggestion for no experience driver

Hi, I am getting a car after being in Ireland close to 9 years. During this time I have not had a car and back in my home country I only drove my parents car under their insurance.

I have a drivers licence since 1994 and got it exchanged for Full Irish about 6 month ago.

So, I have no recent driving experience and I have not been a named driver on anyone elses insurance. Also, I should mention that I am 40 years old.

So I started with calling a random insurance company who said they could not quote me as I had no recent experience and pointed me in the direction of First Ireland Insurance Brokers. They got only one quote for me (looking to get a small 1.4l Focus from 2003-2004) which was €2875.

I then read an old thread here and tried 25Plus.ie where I got a quote of €1350 which sound much more reasonable.

Does anyone have any other insurance companies in mind for my circumstances that I could try?

    Cheers

A broker is your best bet, having said that, the 25plus quote seems reasonable.
