That's a seriously tight spot if two trucks meet just on the bridge I'm after a few frights down through the years!!

It looks like they're not busy over there at all.

Cones up, single lane traffic for a day or two, minor groundworks at the edge of the road and nothing else.

I am really disappointed. Expected widening and few corners to be cut at least (cutting corners is what I understood "realignment" would mean).

But, so far, they're just doing new surface. :(

They made a big deal out of very little really (Milked 7+ months out of it)......the road user got a new road surface, a slightly less severe corner on approach to the bridge & a fancy new stone wall on the bridge (in the same place the old one was). :(

And a nice 50km/h speed limit for about 7km. Having travelled from Limerick last month, it's easily the narrowest part of the road between Limerink and Sligo. And still no hard shoulder! The best bit of the work was the alteration of the northbound lane after the bridge where it opens up with an overtaking lane. It now forces all traffic into the left lane, allowing for overtaking, where as before all traffic drove into the right lane and refused to use the 'slow lane' which just formed off to the left.
Other than that and the road surface, zero improvement. Are theyre expecting a new route for that section of road in the near future?

100% agree! No more lane hoggers. :D

Doubt that to be honest - if a new route's planned in the near future, that'd be unlikely to improve anything along the old route (my own opinion though).
