10 days to give car details to garda

I was in a minor road incident (clipped someone's mirror) and pulled in to get details. We agreed to sort it between us as it was only a small thing. Got a call about an hour later from her insurance saying I need to bring a load of documents to the garda station within 10 days. So I then called my local station just to find out what I needed to bring and I was told by the garda that if a police officer was not on the scene and did not request I bring them down I don't have to do so, since it was just her insurance company that contacted me. I sent the lady a text and she told me she contacted her insurance company and they recommend she file a report with the garda in case I decide not to pay her for the damage. I plan to pay as soon as she gives me her quote I am just wondering do I still need to bring my documents to the garda station if we settle it ourselves? I don't want to have paid her and in a few days receive a summons for not turning in documents.

    Any advice?

The reason why I am not just going to the garda station with them Is I'm insured under someone else's policy and it's her long form that I need and I have no way to get it from her anytime soon especially withing 10 days. She has left the country but still owns and is insured on the car.
