Printer plotter compatibility query

Hi, I'm thinking of buying an HP Designjet 130nr Large Format Inkjet Printer A1 24" Colour CAD Desktop Plotter, if you'll excuse my copying and pasting.

Two things I'm wondering, though: firstly, would it print any PDF file, rather than just CAD files?

Secondly, would it be compatible with my Acer laptop? (The last plotter I bought was only compatible with the olds school 'tower' hard drives.)

Thanks in advance, and forgive my lack of tech knowledge.

It's not a plotter (where a plotter is one of those devices that uses pens to scribble line drawings) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plotter

It's a large inkjet printer; a 24" wide version of a typical household printer, so yes it can print PDFs.

It can connect using USB and network.
    And according to http://support.hp.com/id-en/document/c03168175
it has drivers for windows 8 and 10 according to the web site, so should be capable of working with a laptop.

Those ink cartridges look tiny though for such printing if it'll get a lot of use, 28ml x 6.

Sorry about the late response, but thanks for your help! I've just bought it so all is good. Appreciate the extra information too. Merry Christmas!
