    Hi
Does anyone have opinion on this....when I put the heating on there is a strange smell in one of the bedrooms. Its not like a stale and slightly chemical smell.
There are floor boards in the room no carpet.
Rest of the house is fine.

Is the boiler near this room?

no the boiler is in garage, there are hit water pipes running underneath.

Has it always been there or just a new smell this winter?

If new, strange smells might come from various sources but I'd be thinking of a) a leak or b) rodents.

Thanks ... Kinda thinking that myself. Outside tearing up the floor boards I wonder if dropping something down between them to neutralise the smell would work!

Maybe, but really you'd want to get to the root of the problem if it persists.

If it's a dead rodent then the smell should only last a few weeks at most
