    Can anybody recommend a Psychiatrist in the Limerick area please?

    I don't think recommendations can be made here. Have you spoken to your GP about a referral?

    If you look at the forum charter, you'll see no individual recommendations are allowed.

    Also, this is the psychology forum. We are psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists here.

    Psychiatry is a branch of medicine. Psychiatrists are qualified medical doctors, who specialise in mental health. They can prescribe medication. Your GP can refer you to a psychiatrist either privately or within the HSE where treatment is free of charge. S/he might also refer you to a counsellor/psychologist/psychotherapist, in which case you might find the sticky "How to find a Counsellor" useful.
