Welcome to the world of yesterday :)

Although as you say you have been here a while.

Advice : stay away from the slippery slope of owning an arcade cab.

Whatever you do do some research about NTSC and 60Hz games. You should be ok with SNES and Megadrive since converting them to 60Hz with a mod speeds up most PAL games to correct speed but when you go to PS1, N64 and PS2 titles I'd advise only collecting NTSC games unless it's a PAL exclusive.

Hey there smurf, nice to see the Amiga is part of your collection (you can use those MD pads with it if you're ever stuck for a joystick). My advice usually consists of two, three letter words: CRT and RGB. :)

Cheers Andrew!Ya so handy having the MD pads! Makes Chaos Engine sing! Your advice is great but unneeded :) Don't see much Amiga love on here. Must change that....

I'd like to say stay away from sellers with low feedback selling something rare but I've had a few bargains lately buying from such buyers.

Really the biggest thing to do is look out for knock offs.

Also Parcel Motel, Parcel Wizard and the likes can be useful to get cheaper shipping rates to Ireland.

Buying GBA games online is absolute roulette. Compounded by the fact that half-the-time someone doesn't even realize they're selling repros/bootlegs. I tend to steer mostly clear unless it's a credible, reputable seller. Not to delve to far into the ethics of bootlegs, but they're generally notorious for crapping out after a few hours and taking a save game with them.

Hell, buying GBA title in person is ropey enough, where a bemused clerk has to tolerate me being a numpty, holding each cart beneath the light 'til I see the blessed "Nintendo" dotted across the board.
