    according to their twitter

The earlier Garda-related incident at the airport has concluded. Incident was not security related. Flight operations continuing as normal.

My nosiness wants to know what the incident was, but it would seem there is still a media black out.

Multiple G4S security vans at the aiport. Guards everywhere, someone mentioned tiger kidnapping.

    Could be pure crap though.

Just been told this from a guy working there but no idea who he is.

I saw on twitter something on those lines being mentioned, suppose will have to wait for the media black out to be lifted

I believe it's over now and very close to what was mentioned above.

It's a delicate balance between freedom of information and playing with people's lives especially in a kidnapping scenario.

Hopefully the family/people involved are safe.

Very true, but if you were involved in something like that, the fact its on the RTE news that something is going on, may be a bit of a giveaway....

It's the road that runs from Harmonstown to the Artane roundabout ... at the top of Brookwood Ave.

Not airport security related, makes some sense but it's a confusing statement

Sounds like somebody didn't want the Garda helicopter to be looking for them.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

If there a big enough problem/incident the Garda helicopter with get priority over commercial traffic into the Airport, everything would be put into a hold

so reading the daily mail the story is still a bit confusing but it says the seurity van driver was meant to supply money to atms near airport but he handed this money over in order to release his family, but then his route also took him to collect millions coming off an airplane, where he wrote a note to the security colleagues asking for help, which explains why a plane was surrounded, this to me that is airport security related.

on rte radio they remarked how much planning went into this robbery and it actually seemed alot of work just for €225k.

see the images of 'brave armed gardai' pointing weapons at an empty van, while the raiders were miles away, looks good on the papers and looks good for them, imagine if trouble broke out, how many would shoot themselves in the foot or shoot their colleagues and them make a claim for damages from the garda compensation fund

You should have alerted the Gardai that the van was empty at the time.

Dont blame the ERU for poor reporting. Take a week from A&A for being a troll
