What are you supposed to use on the outside, particularly the rubber parts on the side. I have been advised a few different things so I'm not sure.

A good bang off the back wall of the house should do the trick.
Anything that doesn't shift, rain will get it next time.

I usually just go for a (road) run in the rain. Works a treat!

Whatever you do, DO NOT put them in the washing machine. It destroys the bounce in them.

Wipe the rubber sides in grass. Soles bang together to remove any excess muck. Leave on window to dry and then bang together when dry to remove any loose muck.
Would not use any chemicals or detergents......can be damaging to fabric membrane of runners...

I find my road shoes don't need it and there's no point in cleaning off-road shoes 'coz they're just gonna get dirty again, so other than a quick bang on a hard surface to make sure the sole is clear, I don't bother. They're running shoes, not fashion footwear, don't sweat a bit of dirt.
