Hi - just wondering can you drive to the test centre alone or do you need to have a full licence driver accompanying you and do they check the persons licence? Test is on when it would be hard to ask someone else to take time off too :( thanks a mill for any advice

They don't ask, I was the last test of the day and walked out chatting with the tester and drove home and not a word was said.

you are not licensed to drive without full license holder present in the car, you will need someone to accompany you.

you can drive home on your own if you pass.

You're supposed to have a licence holder with you, but they won't check if there is anyone with you, or if anyone who is with you has a full licence.

No you can't. Even though you've passed your test, you can't drive on your own until you have your full licence.

Asked a driving tester the same question and the official answer is: That is a Garda matter. The tester's remit only covers the period of the driving test and not what the permit holder does before or after the test.
