    Hi Folks,

Just a quick query, I have been submitting a form 12 for rental income (paper) and all has been fine. However this year the revenue has returned the form saying I must submit a form11.

Was I always submitting the wrong form or has something changed. I'm a paye worker with just rental income to declare.

Any help around filling in the form11 appreciated as I suspect most of it will be blank..

    Regards
    Kev

If your rental income is over 3174 after expenses, than you are obliged to register as a self assessed taxpayer, and must submit the Form 11. Any non PAYE Income over this threshold obliges you to register as self assessed.

Best course of action for completing it is, the exact same as the Form 12. Complete only what is relevant to you, ignore the rest

Does your employer pay your medical insurance? If not then you have already received the tax relief at source on the medical insurance premium.

    Thanks,

No I pay the insurance myself. It's just it was part of form12 hence the confusion. Where do I put my Paye details?? Is that section O under the self assessment details??

Section D and it's included in section O.

I'm not sure why you were putting anything to do with your health insurance on your form 12 in the past if you paid the premium yourself.
