CPU: 2 cores each on 2x Intel XEON L5640 @ 2.27 Ghz (2 cores on each physical CPU, expandable)
    64-bit CentOS 6.5

Without knowing what you're planning to do with your VPS nobody is going to be able to tell if 'how good it is'.

Hi Graham , we have several hundred sites to host. At a rough guess I would say 20,000 visitors a day across the sites. A lot of Wordpress sites and customs built PHP sites.

We were on a server we spec below. Trying to see how they compare and if above VPS is high performance etc

    Physical Server:
    Dell PowerEdge R200
    CPU: 1x 4-core Intel XEON X3220 @ 2.4Ghz
    RAM: 8GB (800Mhz FSB, DDR2)
    32-bit CentOS 5 OS
Disk: 2x 750GB 7200RPM SATA disks in RAID 1, ~170 iops (live data + 1 mirror for data redundancy, no data integrity mechanism.)
Network: Physical NIC w/bandwidth burstable to 100Mbps

    Thanks
    Jason

Several hundred sites and 20,000 visitors per day would suggest you should be looking at a dedicated server rather than just a VPS. More RAM, more cpus and SSD drives.

    Thanks devildriver.
The Dell PowerEdge R200 above was a dedicated server and we moved to the VPS above due to dedicated server issues. Hosting company move sites etc over. Same hosting price etc.
As Im not that knowledgeable above the spec/performance details , I said Id throw the info out here and get some opinions.
    Thanks for your reply.

What kind of performance issues were you having?
Were the Wordpress sites setup with caching?

    Was MySQL, Apache etc., optimised?

Have you looked at swapping out Apache for something else?

Is the server also running a control panel?

Is it serving email as well?
