    Hey guys,

I've been in Canada for 14 months now (on a 2 year working visa). I've been offered a job in the last few days, but they're inquiring about my renewal application for the visa.

I'm not quite sure what to tell them as I'm at the beginning of the application process. This is a fantastic job and to not get it because of visa renewal, would just kill me.

To note, I don't have 12 months full time employment yet (5 months and the rest was freelance work). I also noticed that for British Columbia, they're not taking any more provincial nomination applications? Seemingly only healthcare workers. (I'm in the design realm)

Can anyone point me in the right direction? the CIC website is so confusing!

    Thanks!

First step is to find your NOC code

    http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

    And then determine you eligibility

    http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

If you are not eligible for any as you don't have the 12 months full time work for CEC you could ask your employer if they would apply for a LMIA for you and if it's positive it will tie you over until you have the 12 months experience and give you 600 points when it comes to applying for PR. It does cost you employer $1000 and I've heard it takes 10-16 weeks.
