    Hello,
Can anyone tell me who I could contact for advice on the make up of a primary school board of management? I have read all the rules around number of members, roles etc, but I need specific advice relating to the eligibility of members in a specific set of circumstances. Any ideas where I could get impartial advice?

Have you tried asking the National Parents Council.
They have an information leaflet about BoM and they have a help and advice phone line.

I have been on a primary school BOM for 15 years. Perhaps I could help. You can send private message if you want. If you don't want to that's fine too. Just offering my assistance.

I'm on a BOM of an Educate together school. There are strict rules about the make up of the board. 8 members, 2 nominated from ET, 2 parents, 1 male, 1 female, elected by the parent body, 2 community reps, co-opted on my the board and 2 reps from the school staff 1 of whom is the Principal.
As it happens 5 members of our board are parents in the school but it doesn't necessarily have to be that way,
The governing body of the school should have rules about the make up of the board.
