Recently got one of these for my old man.
There is a wee issue with it that's bothering us!
The vanity lights in the front above the centre console, don't come on when the front doors are opened. The light in the centre of the roof does however.
Is this how its meant to be? I don't think I've ever seen a car where the front vanity lights don't come on when the front doors are open

Was gonna buy one some years ago but advised against it as they supposed to be heavy on juice .

Its reasonable I'd say, my old man doesn't do big mileage so it wont be an issue for him really.
    I like the car overall.

Running a 4wd one for last 12 months. 1.6 petrol, 38mpg. It handles very well when you push it.

    Is it 4x4 on demand?

    Is it 4x4 on demand?

Has a 3 way switch, 2wd, auto 4wd, and diff lock sort of arrangement.
It's actually a fiat sedici, but it is exactly the same as an sx4.
A fiat that doesn't break. Quite a novelty.

    No.

I have the original Fiat sedici 4x4 version (What the SX4 started out as, same car diffident name)
Only got it to handle the back roads of Wicklow in the winter months but I actually really like driving it! It has never let me down and ive never got stuck having the 4 wheels pulling on command in snow/ice.
Do about 570KM per week on 50 Eur petrol.

In the 1st version at speeds of over 90km there is a droning sound that fill the cabin I'd love to sort out but push to 120 and its gone. I understand the newer version have more poke and to be honest it's needed over the 2007 models.

Would like to replace it with same when it's time has come if I could.
Yep it looks like a old folks car I suppose really but for me it's a fun, well mannered, 'Get you there in/with confidence' kinda little grower in all weather conditions... bring on the snow as that when it leaves most others behind in the hills of Wicklow.

Feeersh heavy on the juice ha!

Anyhooo.. my Subaru doesn't light the vanity lights either, just the roof light. Which because of the mahoosive sunroof is way back over the rear seats and not a lot of use. Maybe it's a japanese thing? Or a fierce heavy on the the juice thing? I think we'd need some sort of log scale of "fierce heaviness" to compare the scooby to the sedici though?

    I got a 08 with 36k miles last year for 3500.
If another crops up at that price and condition, I would buy it and keep it in the shed.
That fiat badge drops the price considerably.
Look at the Suzuki badged ones. Prices can be double, and most don't have 4wd.

For that price you can't go wrong. Im not badge snob so I would buy another fiat one. Would like the newer 120hp version that came later and it does drink file like a mofo but hey, I can live with that..

Edit. I apologize for taking this thread kind of off Topic.
