Anyone out there making big bucks doing or reasonably good bucks for a living and not having to deal with people in the process?

I'm sick of working with people, for people, talking to people, coordinating people, telling people what to do, them telling me what to do, im sick of phonecalls, im sick of emails, im sick of meetings, im sick of everyone.

I want a job where i make something and make money doing it. I'll answer the phone in so far as to take orders, tell people when the order is ready etc but that's as far as i'll go. Other than that I want to tinker away by myself and not be disturbed for the most part of the day.

Who's got a job like this? Can ye retire and give me your business? thanks.

Start listing problems you see around you. Then in your spare time start trying to invent solutions.

All you need is one great idea, and you could be rich. (or at least just comfortable and happily self-employed)

Be careful what you wish for. I'm a freelance writer who has never met a single boss face to face in this line of work. And the freedom is wonderful, given that I can do it literally anywhere in the world providing there's wifi and liberal smoking rules, but it's isolating. It's just me and my laptop. Some people nip off for smoke breaks during work - I have **** breaks, simply because I can. I'm probably glamourising this line of work but I don't mean to. Give me after-work pints with the colleagues any day of the week.

Wanna swap? There's no after work pints with the boyos..you get yoghurt and an apple break at 1 with 5 people who all wear thick frame glasses and talk about the work left to do for the month.
