HBOT therapy for Macular Degeneration (ARMD)

    Hello,

    I'm looking for some info on behalf of my mother who is a sufferer of Age Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD). I've come across some information online about Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

    There are numerous websites and articles explaining that it can improve the condition. I've also come across some articles linking sleep apnoea and ARMD which my Mother suffers from also. Basically the idea seems to be that you sit in a pressurised chamber like SCUBA divers do after getting '"the bends". The chamber has an increased concentration of Oxygen, this allows the body to absorb much more oxygen than you would normally.

    What are peoples thoughts on this? Would like to hear from others who have sought treatment for ARMD or have used HBOT for other reasons.
