Hi all. In the process of closing a sale on a second hand golf from a non vw dealer. I was wondering what the story is with the emissions recall is in this case. How do I check if it's been done, and if it's not done, how do I go about getting a vw garage to do the fix? It's the 2 litre 2012 tdi engine if it makes any difference. Thanks

    Dk

There's a VW website you can input the chassis number into to check.

O cool. I'm going to do a mechanical second look at the car today so I'll check that this evening.

None of the recalls will be carried out until next year anyway.

Plus, you want to see how people get on post-recall before you get it done.

As above, I'd be in no rush at all to bring a car in for the recall.

Our Caddy won't be going anywhere near the dealer anyway that is for sure.

Yeah I'm reading around and it looks like the nct won't pick up on whether or not the recall fix had been done or not. I'll definitely play it careful with getting the work done, the car drives beautifully and I have no interest in a software update making a balls of that. Thanks all
