Kerosene boiler reset

Overnight my kerosene boiler has stopped working. It was fine yesterday, and today when I went to turn it on, it didn't fire up and we've no heat. Typical given the day!

I've been scouring online for how to reset it, but not getting success. I've had to do it once before and I can't remeber the exact steps.

I've got two photos of it, so in case anyone can give me some pointers. One of of the whole boiler showing the thermostat (green circle) reset switch and power-on light (red circle) and the return valve (blue cicle). Other photo is a close-up of the reset switch (green square) and the light (red square)

Still looking online, but if anyone is able to help me my family will be greatful as we're freezing - on a Sunday!

Just recalling, the reset/restart button in the green square is usually lit up, orange when it's working OK and the last time I had to do this, it was red. Now it's off completely. Wondering if power not getting in?

Circuit board is OK. can't see anything obvious - not that I'd really know what to look for.

In the first pic green circle is the overheatstat screw off the cover and push the button under it
In the second pic the green square is the reset button for the burner

When power is not there it's normally the overheat stat that's gone off screw off the cover (black round cover) beside the thermostat and push in the reset
If it the overheat that's off you could possibly have a circulation pump problem

I took the cover off, as you said from the overheat stat in the green circle. Above you've said black round cover, which isn't in the green cicle - it's a grey square. I've added another image to the above with the cover off. Sorry if I'm mis-reading your post.

On the grey thermostat there is a black round cover that unscrews to expose the reset
I wouldn't tell anyone to take the thermostat cover off as it has 240v mains power inside it

OK, grey cover back on, safe n sound. I see you meant the small black cover over the switch.

Having pressed it now, I'm getting no response from it. Not sure what I should expect, be it an mmediate kick start, or gradual reset. The reset button is still not lit.

What happens there is the power from your timer or zone valves go to the stat first then send power to the burner and circ pump.
You need to check if you getting power to boiler have you any way of testing electrics or are you able to do so

OK we are back in business....

I had pressed the button on the thermostat but did not know what to expect. I hear no noises and the reset light did not come on.

The boiler is on manual setting so was not firing up. I just pressed it to heat for an hour and it kicked off. Just waiting now to ensure heat is coming through, but it looks to be back in business. Reset button is lite green.

Many thanks for your great support & help.
