For some reason I am leaning towards the Sekonda - but probably because of the looks more than anything. Brand-wise, it'd pretty much be a coin toss for me.

Oh, I have a Sekonda that is ten years old, worn almost daily, not minded particularly well and is still perfect.

I agree the Sekonda is what I was leaning towards and I know it has a Japanese movt.
Think the Rotary is using a China movt.
Shame about the rubber strap on the Sekonda but its OK I guess.

Sekonda for me too. Love the red second hand. Pretty hard to go wrong for €70, although if you were willing to spend a bit more there are tons of very nice Seiko 5's in the €100-200ish range.

I ended up buying the Rotary since the Sekonda was gonna take 4 days for them to get it in store. So I said feck it, the Rotary as per my pic in the 'post pics of your watch' thread seems like an OK watch but yes I would have preferred the Sekonda. Either way it will be an appreciated gift when I hand it over come Xmas.

I like that Sekonda, might go for it myself, I like the Rubber strap.
Not as keen on that Rotary, what are either like as watches (on the cheaper mass produced end?)
I was searching for another thread I just came across and couldn't find my way back to, which had a retro Sekonda and found this one while looking.

How would Sekonda compare to Accurist? The Accurist ones don't overly appeal to me but sometimes an odd looking item grows on me.
I've a stainless Seiko which I must wear more, but its quite plain.

Sekondas parent company now own Accurist as of last year. I think the Accurist watches look and feel a notch higher then the Sekondas. Both are in similar price brackets. That particular Sekonda though looks very well IMO.
