Persistent Sore Throat

My sore throat began in mid October and hasn't gone away! I would never have been concerned by a sore throat as they would usually have been accompanied by head cold. However, that was the difference here-I had no other cold symptoms. At the end of October I went to my GP who diagnosed an infection and put me on Calvepen. This drug had zero effect so I went back last week. He said that my throat looked worse and prescribed a course of antibiotics called amoclav. I am 5 days into this course and there is no improvement. I am starting to panic.

Go back to your doctor. If you're not satisfied by his response, go to a different doctor.
