A friend has a brand new Argon E112 2015, never dropped, which has a crack on the l/h chain stay. Opinions on how bad this is?

That was my feeling. It has been 'suggested' it was dropped. But no way. Bought 2 months ago, had 6 rides.

If no joy from the shop then it is likely suitable for repair. No biggie.

    not pretty...
second pic suggests damage stretchs over 3 to 4 inches..
it...does.... look like it was dropped onto something..with a little force too
carbon isnt as britle as some might think...but it is when it falls/get weight applied in the wrong fashion.. i.e- abruptly!!

easy enough fix and safe afterwards doubt the shop will be any help at all...

Yeah. Who caused this is a real problem. The bike was minded like a baby. Ridden 70k once after service (when the damage would have been noticed surely?). A really tricky problem.

Next question will probably be who does good repairs.
