My son rents a room in a house, from another tenant there, his name isn't on the lease .
There have been disagreements now and his not getting on with the other lads.
He is also accused of opening other peoples post, he has been asked to leave immediately.
Does anyone know is he entitled to be given a months notice first as he pays rent monthly.
He has no place to go so will be homeless, he has no job is on a disability allowance and is 26.

Once he had been there for six months,he could have asked to be added to the lease. Doing that would have given him some rights and some responsibilities.

Assuming he didn't do that, then he has no enforceable rights. (A legal right to reasonable notice exists, but it's little practical use.)

At this time of year he may be able to get a bed in a Backpacker hostel for a reasonable weekly rate.

Failing that, crash on friend's couch for a couple of nights and present to the council as homeless on Monday.

He is a licensee of the head tenant so has no rights really.

If he has no job then surely he can just go home as he doesn't need to be in the area he rents for work etc.
