    Hello all,

Just had the CVRT done today on 06 connect and it failed for ABS light not showing on start up. If anyone can give me an idea on what is causing this and any ideas on a fix I would be grateful.

    Cheers BB

Ok,first of all you need to get the fault code read by a diagnostic machine or code reader. You need to know what part of the abs system has the fault ie sensor, pump, wiring, module etc. What you can do in the mean time is remove each of the road wheels and check the sensor and wiring for any visible damage or if the loom has been rubbing of other parts in there. The sensor fits in to the stub axle on the car.

Just reading you post again forget my reply above. You need to remove the dash clocks and check that no one has been at it (like sticking tape over the abs light)whitch I've seen befor a few times.A few years ago you could get away with it and there were people blocking of the abs light. If that is the case the light may well be stuck on all the time.

Do all of those old Connects have ABS? Is it possible that your van doesn't have it?

I wouldn't be familiar enough with them to be able to say for sure one way or the other.

    Your post got me thinking!

My connect has ABS and its working fine, but I had a problem with the instrument display a few months ago and had to change it.
I replaced it with one I picked up from a breakers yard and now I'm thinking that the replacement display did not have ABS, so maybe the electronics are different.

    Could this be the problem?

It is definitely a plausible explanation.

Those older instrument clusters have bulbs in them as far as i know might be worth popping the cluster out and see is there a bulb in it.
