Are all the IMAX screen showings in Cineworld 3D (I hate 3D), or are there any 2D ones, does anyone know?

2D IMAX screenings are a scam, so I doubt it's even being released that way. What would be the point? The whole selling point of Digital IMAX is the quality of the 3D. If you want to see it in 2D, see it in one of the 2D screens for considerably less.

IMAX and Marvel don't think so given they're developing a 2D digital camera to be used for Civil War:

I don't like 3D but so like high rez, large images and was wondering if it was being used anywhere.

As it currently stands, digital IMAX doesn’t offer higher resolution, though. It uses dual 2k projectors, which is great for 3D because it’s brighter and offsets the light loss but offers no advantage for 2D. Any of Cineworld’s 2D screens will give the same resolution. IMAX will have to upgrade all their digital screens to take advantage of any new high resolution digital format they develop. (Edit: Actually it seems they have already started doing this, it’s called "IMAX with Laser”.)

All big films are distributed in 4k now, so if it’s high resolution 2D you are after you are better off going somewhere with 4k projection. Higher resolution and a lot cheaper than IMAX.

Don’t ask me where, though. A lot of these 4k systems are wasted on 3D screens which halve the resolution back to 2k.
