Car scent recommendations

I think this is the right place to ask, looking for recommendations to get my car smelling nice and fresh!
I hate visible air fresheners dangling from the mirror and don't like the look of those ones that clip to the air vents either.
    What do you guys use?

I quite like the Autoglym autofresh spray, although it's only effective for a day or two between sprays. I've run out, and want to pick up something today...

Autofresh sprayed onto your mats is the job.

It is! I'll probably pick up another bottle at lunchtime, just thought i'd check first if you guys in the know use something better. The car doesn't smell too great after having my football gear in it all day yesterday!

Loving California Car Scents myself. Just pop it in a cup holder and it does it's thing for months, I got a hape of them from CleanCar.ie but they are gone now iirc, but Halfords do them too. Newport New Car or Strawberries and Cream all the way :)

Edit: lol I basically wrote the same as what they say on their site! I actually wrote that before I read the link. That's mad :pac:

Interesting! hadn't heard of them, Halfords website shows they only have a couple of them, but I'll give them a sniff when I pop in, thanks!

Usually see them up around the tills in halfords.

A spray of febreeze works nicely too.

Stripper Scent for the win - although the CG never really lasts that long or maybe I just get used to the smell. I have CG Pina Colada at the moment and it lasts ages, just waiting to get rid so I can get Stripper Scent again.

That California Car Scents looks decent enough

50 Cal Berry Bomb is the nicest I've ever had.

    Good longevity?

Longevity is a relative thing when it comes to car scents. If you're in the car every day yourself you become used to it. It's still there as many have attested to weeks after I sprayed it on the mats.

I'm the total opposite and I find most car fresheners make me gag. I have refused to go in some cars because the skink was making me throw up. Smells that remain in a car are usually stuck in the fabrics and generally have a biological source. I have successfully used bacterial fabric cleaner to kill the bacteria causing the smell.

Be warned though, some are just dilute bleach so test it on an inconspicuous area first. I usually use the return of the rear folding seatback.

The last one I got was some hand made thick paper infused with "something" and I threw them under the front seats. They were meant for keeping clothes fresh in a wardrobe but they worked.

Put some freshly ground coffee in a bowl and leave it overnight or a few days, it should take the bad smells away.

CG Stripper scent or new car smell. Also the 50 cal cola one isn't bad either.

These are very good I find, bought a 12 pack from ebay few years ago with mixed scents, still got couple left.

They will give your nose a fine blast of scent at first (Cherry one more so), real shock but they settle down last a good 3-4 months if car doesn't to hot and dry out the bits in tin.

I have the 2d berry desire one and love the smell of it. Lasts a good bit too.

Can believe I'm admitting this but each time I detail the car I spray my aftershave onto the mats - issey miyake, Hugo boss black code etc :o

My car currently has Stripper Scent on the mats/carpet and 50. Cal's interior dressing on the dash/trims, great combo!

The 50 Cal interior dressing smells unreal!

That stripper scent sounds like a must try. :-D

Not paying 20 quid for it though. Shame nothing around Limerick.
