yes just pre order a game that isn't out for a few months, once your item ships you can cancel the pre-ordered game. Uncharted 4 works a treat

Add a game that has no release date yet and the other item will ship separate

If I do that and make the order will I get charged for both games and then get the money returned when I cancel my preorder or how does it work? Will I need to wait to cancel the preorder until the game is shipped?

Amazon only charge your card when item is dispatched

No dont worry, they only charge when the items ship and no you can cancel right away after you order.
