I have to pop over to the IFSC tomorrow afternoon. I know that there is a load of unsavoury youths in the general area.

is there any secure place to lock a bike, my meeting is in Exchange Place.

    Cheers

I hate to be the bad news barer but in my experience there is no safe place there. Only the other day I had to run a gang of local trouts that were messing at the bikes outside the national college of Ireland, security guard not the slightest bit bothered. I don't work there but have to park around the corner for a while every eve and it's something I see on a weekly basis. They don't give a toss, they don't care if you stand and video them even up close.

    Leave the bike at home

I used to lock up at the external stands near Busáras. Two good locks. Didn't have a problem. Was ten years ago or so though.

Leave your bike where it is and Dublin bike it over to the ifsc if that's an option

    Cheers guys.
I thought as much,I'm coming over from Shelbourne Road so not to far off a walk.

There's no Dublin bikes at this side of the canal, so havn't signed up for it yet.

kind of a bad show really, especially on behalf of the DDA and Dublin city.

Park it in the NCI car park.

If you mean the stands in the plaza outside Store Street station, they're gone now.

I would've thought the IFSC would be safe enough during the day, lots of people and IFSC guards around.

Seems ok during lunchtimes. I've not parked my bike there very often though.

That said I prefer using the Dublin Bikes even when I have my own bike with me.

I can't quite remember, but for some reason I ended up going to the Harbourmaster a few times, so I think I was parking outside near there. I think it was some stands overlooking George's Dock.

From having lived there for many years, I would not lock anything you would not risk in a flip of a coin bet in the IFSC or surronding areas.
