Christmas gift for 4 yr old

    We're doing a charity gift drive at work. I've picked a 4 yr old old girl who has asked for an arts and crafts present. It will be unwrapped so I'm assuming either one gift or things that can be attached together. We're not given a budget but €25 seems to be what other people are saying they'll spend. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Unwrapped so that it can be checked that nothing inappropriate has been included. €25 seems a lot but that depends on the charity and fine if you are happy with it.

    Age 4 is still rather young and un-coordinated, and require a good bit of adult supervision. I would be a bit cautious about sending craft things to a child that may not have full adult attention in using them.

    Consider chubby crayons, easy colouring book. You can buy outline card shapes (people shapes for example) in craft shops that can be decorated by colouring and sticking on things like paper and pompoms, which can be found in any craft shop with a children's section. Glue stick. Plastic/child safe scissors. Giant chalk sticks (for outdoors). Peel-off stickers. Fat 'pipe cleaners'.

    Maybe safer could be jigsaws, fuzzyfelt http://www.amazon.co.uk/John-Adams-Fuzzy-Felt-Farm-Animals/dp/B0058GNTQS ; Mr Potato-head http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1524279.htm and similar toys that require 'making'.

    Thanks a million for that reply. Honestly I wouldn't have thought of any of that. I've no kids and don't have much contact with them either. I'm happy with the money part of it. It's for Barnardos and I don't have a huge outlay at Christmas myself. I'll definitely feel more comfortable going shopping now. Thanks again.
