A soap legend he certainly was - five Daytime Emmys for his dual role as diametrically opposite twins Adam and Stuart Chandler in AMC.

However - and this is said with the very greatest of respect - because he largely concentrated on soaps, and American soaps are never talked about as much on these shores as dramas and sitcoms are (Dallas being one of the few exceptions), he wouldn't be quite as well-known here. His name certainly wouldn't be as familiar here as that of his Bonanza co-star Lorne Greene, or indeed that of his AMC co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar.
