I have pbnr limousine heifer she is about 7 to 14 days off calving. Nice heifer 3 years old. I bought her in about seven months ago. Icbf says she will have around 1kg of milk . Not showing any signs of milk what so ever. I will have to calf her down and see how it goes but I think i am in bother. I will get colostrum in just in case. Any thoughts.
    Thanks for reading.

7 to 14 days before her due date is up or you think she'll calf within that time frame? Had a heifer last year with a v. Small bag but in fact had v.good quality milk.. her calf weaned at 410kg @ 9months. She might bag up quickly in the latter stages

Thanks for that I checked back and guy who had her mother had her for at least 15 years so there is some hope. Her time is up on the 1 of December but looking at the signs I think she will calf in a week or two.

Jaysus Dexter took a while to find- https://webapp.icbf.com/bull-search/view/580179417

Doesn't look bad for milk. Don't get your hopes up if she's looking that way now, I've blonde out of pb lm cow that's almost four weeks over her due date! Has a big bag but half of that could be flagging, that could be what you're seeing now, slight swelling as she starts to produce milk for the first time.

If she's in calf to KJB she won't calve till Xmas week:D

Seriously tho, I wouldn't be too worried yet. Heifers usually spring up close to calving.
Maybe have access to colostrum just in case.

Cheers you never know I have heifers calfing down in February and they are showing more milk, so the only thing I can do is have beastings close at hand..

Best of luck . Give her plenty of time, I bought a moocall so this heifer will be the test run.
