Have you checked out Blakestowncharolais.com, I think there's videos of the cattle for sale on there. Feckin broadband is too sh1te to watch them here.

I know a lad with a Blakestown bull, cost him €3,500. Throwing serious calves for him.

Blakestown Bulls had a good reputation for producing the goods.
Patsy imported top Bulls for his herd & wouldn't put them on his top cows until they'd proved themselves.
Sadly ICBF don't have the same appreciation, 2 Bulls in Sligo AI don't have good rating, especially when McCabes emphasised milk as a main trait

have looked at the site and read the catologue, seems a lot of older cows which seem to be late calving. just wondering how the herd is run now compared to when things were flying in the boom.

went up to the sale last night, a lot of big cows with very bad calving intervals and only calving in the summer and alot of the young cattle not scored.
a lot of the cows did not sell and were making good money, patsy still living in the boom day prices, bulls were good but wouldnt sell either only for big money.

Sorry to sound nosy but when you say the cows were making good money but didn't sell, what was the money? over 3,000?
