    Hi Guys,

I have 5 lessons completed and intend to have the full 12 completed by the 20th of december. I have my test paid for but will be unable to schedule a date until I have all my lessons fully completed...So heres the thing..... I have been contacted by a company about a job that requires a full driving licience .. I have told them I dont have the licience right now but should be able to get the licience before I would potentially start in the role on the 11th January.. Do you thinks its fairly doable to get the licience in time? ..Like once I complete the 12 lessons would I have much hassle getting a test scheduled quickly after?? (Im doing the test in castlebar btw)

    Thanks!!

Get as much practice in as you can and pay close attention to any suggestions and comments that your ADI makes.
If you tell the test schedulers you will take a cancellation, even in a neighbouring county, at short notice, it will greatly increase your chance of getting an early test.
    Best of luck.

    Hi spurious,

I was talking to the girl in hr and it turns out I wouldn't need to have the license until February which gives me a bit more breathing space.. On the other side of things the waiting list for castlebar to do the test averages 11 weeks😔.. I know I would have to hope for a cancellation but I'm only there at the weeknds and in Dublin for the most part.. If I take a cancellation in Dublin on a route I've never done before do you think I'd be at a big disadvantage ?

Not necessarily. I did the test 6 times in an area I grew up in, thinking familiarity would be a help. Failed it six times. Got a cancellation in a less familiar area, passed first time.

The 11 week waiting list would not include cancellations. You could still get a short notice cancellation in Castlebar.
