    Hey guys,

I'm only in 1st year of college doing environmental science at the moment but really don't want to move abroad to work, what's the job scene like in Ireland in relation to environmental science, and is it likely to change in the next 4-5 years?

Oh wow, you got a lot of replies there.....

So I work in environmental type work but its pretty hard getting a job here without experience unless, by the looks of it, you go down the health and safety aspect of it and deal with licensing and wastewater or waste stuff. There seem to be a lot more jobs in that area.

I went down the marine route even tho I'm not a marine person really but there were jobs and I got more experience that way.

I know a few people who got environmental type work after doing internships on job bridge but the low wages are tough obviously. Stupid system.

I agree with Daisy, if you can do a bit of H+S you will probably be more "employable" as many companies lump H+S and E management together..

Or maybe focus on EIA etc also make sure you have ISO 14001 covered in some way.

    Good luck!
