I have a Nissan Almera SVE 2007. I've only bought it and the radio was working fine, until i got back in the car after driving it home. The CD player works fine. but the radio will tell me on the LCD screen it is on and what radio station is tuned in, but no sound. Sometimes it just comes on and other times it crackles a bit. It seems to be just a problem with the radio as when I change the source to CD, there are no problems & I can hear the CD play clearly in each speaker. This is the built-in stereo that also controls heating.

    Is the aerial intact/actually there?

Yeah, aerial is fine. The car was left sitting there for a few weeks though. I'm thinking that might have something to do with it.

The fault you describe is common to this model stereo. It is repairable but you need to find someone in your area who is competent enough to do the repair.
Your other option is to source a similar unit in a breakers yard and have it programmed to suit your car .
