    Hi

Anyone know of a mechanic in north Mayo / Sligo that'd know anything about vintage cars? I have a 1971 Mercedes 250CE with a gearbox problem

    Thanks

Are you a member of a Club. There is usually someone who can point you in the right direction. Is it manual or automatic.

    Hi

No, not a member of a club but have been trying to contact the North Mayo Vintage club without success. Have just got a reply from CVVMC about a mechanic so might join them but if anyone else knows of someone, let me know

    Thanks

Your normal independant garage would easily be able to remove / install a gearbox for you, as it wouldnt require any specific tools or information. Working on the likes of a '71 Mercedes wouldnt be complictated compared to newer cars. In mosts cases if the problem is internal you would be best bringing the just the gearbox to a specialist gearbox repair centre, if you have one near you.
